The Sales Floor Department Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of associates to deliver excellent customer service in the store. This involves coaching, training, delegating tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage. Supervisors engage in both customer-facing activities like greeting customers, identifying needs, and closing sales, as well as non-customer-facing tasks such as down stocking, inventory management, and area recovery. They are also responsible for store safety, including conducting safety walks and coaching on safe behaviors. The role requires working with leaders to implement best practices, supervising associates across different departments as needed, and possessing broad product knowledge. Communication with management regarding concerns and morale is essential. Additionally, this role may occasionally involve opening or closing the store or serving as manager-on-duty.
