About The Position

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Strategic Sales Financial Analyst to serve as a key business partner to executive leadership. In this role, you will deliver strategic financial insights that drive sales growth, cost efficiency, margin optimization, and ROI across customer segments and channels. You’ll collect, analyze, and report data trends to improve sales productivity and inform critical business decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Finance, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, forecasting, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience in customer P&L management and profitability analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills (macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
  • Familiarity with data sources and reporting tools such as Microsoft SQL, Power BI.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite; AS400 experience preferred.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical background.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and translate into actionable insights.
  • Comfort working with incomplete information and ambiguity.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage aggressive deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving with ability to prioritize independently.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and collaborative team player.

Nice To Haves

  • Programming knowledge (SAS, VBA, MATLAB, MINITAB, C++) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain multi-scenario financial models to support strategic initiatives, customer contract negotiations, and prescriptive analytics, including “next best action” recommendations for sales leads.
  • Build and maintain P&Ls to track performance of key customers and vendors.
  • Analyze customer profitability to inform decisions on retention, pricing, or discontinuation.
  • Provide ROI analysis for sales programs and initiatives.
  • Present weekly sales results and variance analysis to Sales Leadership.
  • Collect, evaluate, and produce sales data for management and sales teams on a regular basis and upon request.
  • Aggregate and verify accuracy of input from sales leads to adjust output as needed.
  • Evaluate performance against quotas for vendors and sales teams and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Lead the annual sales budget process, aligning forecasting methodologies across departments.
  • Integrate operational assumptions into corporate planning and ensure consistency in reporting.
  • Coordinate with IT to automate reporting processes and improve data accessibility.
  • Provide sales comparison data for acquisitions and strategic planning.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support business objectives.
