About The Position

Certrec is seeking a motivated Sales Executive to support new business growth initiatives across our portfolio of services. This role is well suited for an early- to mid-career professional interested in developing a career in business development within highly regulated industries, including nuclear, non-nuclear power generation, and NERC-governed environments. The position will focus on prospecting, lead generation, relationship building, and supporting proposals and the sales process while working closely with executive business development and technical staff. This role provides foundational exposure to Certrec’s consulting, regulatory, and technical service offerings, creating a strong pathway for career progression within the Business Development organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in nuclear, energy, utilities, engineering, compliance, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Foundational understanding of regulated operational or technical environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional presence with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and eager to develop business development capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel to support client engagement and industry events.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to nuclear licensing, regulatory affairs, NRC-related activities, or NERC compliance environments.
  • Prior experience in sales, business development, account management, or other customer-facing roles.
  • Familiarity with utilities, power generation, engineering services, or regulatory consulting environments.
  • Demonstrated interest in developing long-term expertise in business development within highly regulated industries.

Responsibilities

  • Support new business development efforts across Certrec’s portfolio of services, including nuclear, non-nuclear power generation, and NERC-governed environments.
  • Conduct market and account research to identify potential clients, opportunities, and industry trends.
  • Initiate outreach to prospective clients through calls, emails, and industry networking, under the guidance of executive business development staff.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and proposal development efforts.
  • Develop the ability to clearly communicate Certrec’s regulatory compliance, licensing, digital engineering, and technical service offerings.
  • Collaborate with internal technical, licensing, and delivery teams to understand client needs and support solution development.
  • Track business development activities, contacts, and opportunities within CRM and reporting tools.
  • Attend industry conferences, workshops, and client events to build market knowledge and professional relationships.
  • Support other business development initiatives and special projects as assigned.
