About The Position

We are seeking a Sales & Estimator Specialist to work with Clients & Operations to estimate, sell, plan, organize, direct, and coordinate all aspects of the exterior enhancement/construction related projects. The Sales & Estimator Specialist will oversee exterior projects and service lines, manage staff schedules, ensure quality and budget compliance, enforce policies for safety and performance, and communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or two years in specialized training, preferred but not Required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the green industry/snow and ice management related to large commercial / corporate facilities ground operations and maintenance, with progressive supervisory experience.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of horticultural practices/services, plant/pest identification, industry related equipment, and landscape architecture.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in hazardous environments, such as construction sites, and work in all types of weather.
  • Be available to work 24/7 with the ability to respond quickly and with a sense of urgency.
  • Must possess current Michigan driver’s license and maintain satisfactory driving record.
  • Must submit to, and successfully pass, background checks: including drug, credit and criminal history.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems or Software systems is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of crews performing work.
  • Hiring, coaching, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution of exterior services crew members.
  • Planning and organization of landscape construction or one-time special services work.
  • Implement, and enforce standardized operating policy and procedures
  • Implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures.
  • Oversee production and completion of site work within deadline constraints.
  • Measure and maintain high level of production while limiting or reducing operating expenses to increase profitability by tracking manpower and resource allocation.
  • Ensure conformance to specifications, standards, and contract requirements.
  • Operations staff development, training, and mentoring to improve employee competency and job satisfaction. Demonstrate a positive role model for others to follow while creating a positive team environment. Influence/mentor others to achieve a high level of performance.
  • Investigate work related complaints to verify problems and to determine responses and corrective action if necessary.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve and promote quality and apply means/methods to improve performance. Keep up to date on technology and available resources. Provide recommended changes to increase efficiency and or quality of work. Continue to educate and improve upon industry knowledge through trade organizations, etc.
  • Oversee the accuracy of employee’s time sheets and daily work logs.
  • Periodically and proactively visit sites to confirm that quality is met.
