About The Position

The Sales Estimator at STAG Partners is responsible for developing estimates and bids for construction projects. This role involves completing take-offs to gather information for bids, reading plans and specifications, and utilizing estimating software to perform plan takeoffs. The estimator must understand and navigate building codes, review sites, and gather information for estimates on existing buildings. Additionally, the position requires designing solutions for customer problems and operating the company estimating system to develop bids and estimates. The estimator will facilitate the pre-construction process, which includes scheduling, mobilization, accounting setup for budgets and estimates, and managing subcontractor agreements. The role also involves reviewing project budgets, facilitating the bid process and documents, creating proposal documents, walking sites to assist with quantifying and estimating, organizing the document repository in project tracking software, collecting price quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, and managing client relationships and proposal follow-up activities. Flexibility to cover other tasks as deemed necessary by the STAG Supervisor is also required.

Requirements

• Strong math skills including basic arithmetic, algebra, and geometry
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products with a focus on Microsoft Excel
• Estimating software experience (BlueBeam preferred)
• Construction management software experience (BuilderTrend preferred)
• Working knowledge of Construction Operations
• Strong typing skills
• Knowledge of building code
• Ability to read and navigate plans and specifications
• Good interpersonal and written communication skills
• Account management and client relationship building
• Strong multi-tasking ability
• Detail-oriented
