About the position

Hasura is hiring a Sales Engineer to enrich our team! In this role, you’ll be working closely with our mid-market and commercial customers to support their evaluation of Hasura. As a Sales Engineer, you will serve as a key part of the sales process, helping to obtain the technical win for Hasura customers during a deal cycle. This includes leading architecture discussions, sharing product demos, hosting technical workshops, answering customer environment integration questions, and other tasks that are needed to position Hasura to be the solution of choice for our mid-market and commercial customers. You’ll work alongside potential customers, with the support of Hasura product and sales teams and provide technical guidance, solution design, and product demonstrations in order to inspire product activations and purchases.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the technical sales process of customer evaluations of Hasura in order to achieve the technical win.
  • Work across the business to ensure the customer has access to the right team based on their needs.
  • Support sales teams who need assistance answering their customer's product questions.
  • Deliver engaging demos.
  • Successfully manage the end-to-end delivery of proof of value engagements with customers.
  • Answer all customer technical questions during the sales cycle and/or help align the right internal engineering resources.
  • Advocate for requests from customers with the Hasura product team.
  • Help build crucial internal collateral for the presales team e.g. demonstrations and instructionals.
  • Select an area of focus to own internally as the technical SME.
  • Join the team at conferences and events to represent Hasura.
  • Build credibility and trust while influencing buying decisions.
  • Sell on value and return on investment, not just technical functionality.
  • Uncover ways to improve the way we support our customers and seek out new and different ways to help increase satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in a customer-facing role.
  • 1+ years experience in a sales/solutions engineering role e.g. associate sales engineer.
  • Empathetic and customer-satisfaction driven.
  • Experience supporting customers as a subject matter expert.
  • Ability to recall and explain deep product knowledge back to a customer in a concise way.
  • High level of customer centricity and relationship building skills.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, REST/GraphQL, and proficiency with some backend engineering languages (Java, NodeJS, Python, etc).
  • Familiarity with open-source, App and API development terminology.
  • High level understanding of different database technologies e.g. OLTP, noSQL.
  • Highly motivated and driven individual who thrives working towards monthly and quarterly quotas.
  • Comfortable being on camera, in person, and in front of an audience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
