Job Summary: The Sales Engineer is responsible for the sales activities in their respective territory. The Sales Engineer will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with our existing clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  • Technical experience in industrial manufacturing and/or industrial sales desirable.
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn and understand complex products, blueprints and manufacturing processes.
  • Communicate with clarity in verbal and written communications.
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to travel on short notice.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn and make independent decisions.
  • Exceptional communication abilities (verbal, listening, and written)

Responsibilities

  • Thorough understanding of our products and capabilities and effectively communicating them to our customers
  • Responsible for cost review, pricing, and quoting.
  • Continual interaction with Inside Sales, Production, Quality Control, and Engineering Departments.
  • Maintain and cultivate existing customers domestically and internationally.
  • Generate new customers through leads, market research, and cold calling.
  • Assist in design reviews and technical audits.
  • Negotiate terms and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Predominately domestic travel and some international travel is required.
  • Support and communicate the mission, values and culture of the Company.
  • Travels to customers and potential customers’ facilities providing them with information and support as required to secure and maintain business.
  • Target customers for growth, cost reduction and/or price adjustments as needed to achieve Revenue and Cost goals.
  • Ensures that sales activities comply with sales policies and procedures.
  • Recommends to the Company areas of future growth potential such, new market strategies, etc.
  • Assists in establishing sales objectives for product area and/or geographic region in cooperation with management.
  • Provide timely reporting of activities in the field and special reporting to assist in business and product planning.
  • Independently recognizes and seeks out sales, methods of obtaining sales and providing service to customers within area of accountability which can include necessity for cold calling with new prospects & customers.
  • Assist in the preparation of written quotes, RFP’s, RFI’s and RFQ responses and sales proposals & negotiations.
  • Handle all customer calls and emails on timely basis.
  • Attend industry events including trade shows, conferences, etc. to promote, build relationships, market & sell.
  • Assist in the development of sales tools for your customers.
  • Ensure new product information is communicated to appropriate personnel as required.
  • Analyze and evaluate unit price and costs results in order to maintain acceptable profit margins.
  • Perform any other duties not mentioned above when instructed to do so by the department manager.
