About The Position

The Sales Engineer is responsible for developing, managing, and growing customer relationships while serving as the primary technical and commercial contact for assigned customers. This role blends sales, engineering, and project management, ensuring customer needs are met while aligning opportunities with Centro’s capabilities, quality standards, and strategic goals. The Sales Engineer plays a critical role in revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and Centro’s industry reputation.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field preferred
  • Experience in sales, customer service, or technical engineering roles
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to learn and apply technical concepts related to product design, blueprint reading, and applied math
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to work independently
  • Comfortable working in a team-oriented, cross-functional environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and business/engineering software tools
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with assigned customers and qualified prospects
  • Pursue new business opportunities and qualify potential customers aligned with Centro’s market and diversification strategy
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded
  • Initiate project reviews with Engineering and provide technical and design support to customers
  • Review engineering analyses, determine pricing, and prepare and authorize customer proposals
  • Review and authorize customer purchase contracts for tooling, prototypes, and initial production orders
  • Support and participate in production part approval processes and new product launches
  • Act as the communication link between customers and internal teams to resolve issues related to design, pricing, quality, tooling, delivery, warranty claims, and change orders
  • Provide technical assistance related to the rotational molding process to customer engineering, purchasing, and quality teams
  • Conduct periodic customer site visits to strengthen relationships and understanding of customer needs
  • Submit annual sales forecasts and monthly expense reports
  • Gather and report market intelligence related to competitors, customers, pricing trends, and new technologies
  • Support Centro’s Quality System and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in professional development, training, and industry events
