About The Position

SecureAuth is an innovative leader in the access management and authentication space, now extending its platform with applied AI to deliver autonomous, adaptive, and explainable identity decisions. The company aims to make security experiences seamless, intelligent, and intuitive, ensuring the right people gain access while maintaining a frictionless experience. SecureAuth leverages AI-driven adaptive risk analytics, combining hundreds of human and machine signals to create each user's unique digital DNA. Machine learning models score risk in real time, large language models power an identity copilot for analysts and admins, and agentic workflows automate response, remediation, and access reviews. SecureAuth differentiates itself by offering passwordless authentication, AI-native risk scoring, and agent-ready identity APIs in a single platform that bridges hybrid, multi-cloud, and on-prem environments. With hundreds of customers, SecureAuth is leading a revolution in IAM, addressing challenges from digital transformation and zero trust to securing AI agents and non-human identities. The company is headquartered in Irvine, CA, with offices in Argentina, Canada, and Europe, and operates as a global, remote-first organization. As a Sales Engineer on the AI & Identity Platform team, you will serve as the technical voice of SecureAuth in strategic deals. This role requires deep identity expertise combined with hands-on software engineering and applied AI fluency. Key responsibilities include leading discovery and design with prospects, building live prototypes (often involving code, GenAI, and SecureAuth APIs), proving value through Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and AI Research to shape future product development. This position is ideal for a builder who codes, has strong opinions on model choice and prompt design, and possesses the ability to debug complex technical issues across various domains, such as SAML assertions and LLM tool-call traces.

Requirements

  • 3–7+ years development experience (Python, TypeScript/JS, Go, Java, or C#).
  • Strong API/SDK experience (REST, GraphQL, webhooks).
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP (IAM, networking, serverless).
  • Ability to build and demo full-stack prototypes independently.
  • Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), prompt engineering, and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with agents (LangGraph, CrewAI, etc.), MCP, and RAG architectures.
  • Understanding of AI security risks (prompt injection, data leakage, agent auth).
  • Deep knowledge of SAML, OIDC, OAuth2 flows and token lifecycles.
  • Experience with MFA (WebAuthn/passkeys, FIDO2, OTP, device trust).
  • Understanding of federation, SCIM provisioning, and directory services (AD/Entra).
  • Knowledge of JWTs, RBAC/ABAC, and policy frameworks (OPA, Cedar, etc.).
  • Experience with networking, proxies, TLS/certificates, and SaaS integrations.
  • Strong debugging skills across identity, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with zero trust, threat modeling, SIEM/logging tools, and compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO, NIST AI RMF).
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience in software, AI, or identity systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and debugging tools (SAML tracer, JWT tools).
  • Strong demo/storytelling ability for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales to drive technical wins—lead discovery, map architectures, and design authentication, MFA, risk, and AI-driven identity solutions on SecureAuth.
  • Deliver high-impact demos showcasing passwordless auth, adaptive risk, federation (SAML/OIDC/OAuth2), and AI-powered identity workflows.
  • Build prototypes and integrations using Python, TypeScript, or Go to demonstrate APIs, SDKs, webhooks, and MCP capabilities.
  • Design AI-native identity solutions (risk models, RAG over logs, LLM assistants, and non-human identity policies).
  • Lead technical discovery across cloud, on-prem, hybrid, and AI/ML environments.
  • Own PoCs end-to-end: setup, IaC, integrations, scripting, observability, and success validation.
  • Create and present technical proposals covering auth flows, risk, AI governance, and migration from legacy IDPs.
  • Collaborate with Product/Engineering to relay feedback, prototype features, and validate roadmap (AI, agents, developer platform).
  • Troubleshoot complex issues (SAML/OIDC, SCIM, certificates, APIs, MFA, networking, LLM workflows).
  • Support RFP/RFI responses with strong technical and security positioning.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on identity architecture, zero trust, MFA modernization, and AI identity trends.
  • Build reusable demos, sample apps, and developer assets.
  • Enable partners via workshops, labs, and joint customer engagements.
  • Stay current on IAM, AI, and emerging agent identity standards.
  • Engage diverse stakeholders (CISOs, engineers, AI teams, compliance).
  • Ensure smooth handoff to Professional Services with full documentation.
