About The Position

A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a finance-related field is preferred, but 8 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
Broad knowledge of materials (HRS/CRS and SST, AL) and fabrication processes (laser and plasma cutting, bending, welding, powder coating and assembly, etc.) is preferred.
Experience working in a metal manufacturing shop is preferred.
Manufacturing environment with intermittent noise and long periods of standing in a warehouse-type physical space, with exposure to noise and dust in hot and cold climates.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. (if on-site, but also rare)
Ability to stand, bend, squat, twist, and kneel.
Normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and normal hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids).
Must have good hand and eye coordination.
Must wear steel-toed shoes.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a metal manufacturing shop is preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurately and efficiently estimate complex Class 1 (moderate to complex engineering design) metal manufacturing products and designs, minimizing errors.
Support/assist the Junior Estimator with Class 2 & 3 products (minimal engineering design and limited complexity)
Revamp and improve the efficiency of the quoting process.
Develop and implement SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and WIs (Work Instructions) for Class 1 quoting.
Integrate machine nesting to expedite ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) pricing.
Ensure accuracy in quoting and conduct peer reviews of quotes.
Engage in customer-facing interactions for high-profile quoting jobs.
Maintain good customer relations and collaborate effectively with teams.
Adapt quickly and communicate clearly and concisely.
Work cohesively with production floor work centers at both metal shops.
Analyze engineering CAD and drawings.
Understand and apply lean manufacturing and root cause analysis (RCA) processes.
Familiarize quickly with all MFP capabilities.
Create forms and templates to streamline the quoting process.
Maintain 7S in the department.
Obeying all company, OSHA, and other state and federal agencies’ safety regulations.
