About The Position

In this role as a Sales Engineer, you are both a tech-savvy professional who understands the technical aspects of a product and a trusted advisor who can clearly communicate value to potential customers. You will work closely with sales teams to drive successful pre-sales engagements, helping clients envision how M-Files can transform their business operations. We are prioritizing applicants with demonstrated experience supporting clients in the Manufacturing or Professional Services space, as this role will play a key part in advancing our growth within these industries. This position is ideal for someone who blends technical depth with strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills, someone who can coach sellers, advise customers, and deliver a consultative experience that goes far beyond traditional technical support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, etc.) preferred.
  • Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in a pre-sales, solution consulting, or similar technical customer-facing role.
  • Strong background supporting Manufacturing and/or Professional Services clients.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling business messages.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and thrive in a consultative, fast-paced sales environment.
  • Demonstrated customer service mindset, with a focus on solution orientation and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales representatives to provide solution consulting and technical expertise throughout the sales process.
  • Assist in qualifying opportunities and managing proof-of-concept (POC) processes.
  • Script, configure, and deliver value-driven product demonstrations that clearly communicate business outcomes.
  • Deeply understand the M-Files product to explain its value, benefits, and technical details to potential clients.
  • Address technical objections and questions raised by prospects with confidence and clarity.
  • Identify and recommend solution approaches based on detailed customer discovery and business needs.
  • Document technical requirements, integration needs, and overall solutions in collaboration with M-Files’ Services and Implementation teams.
  • Build strong relationships with prospects and customers by understanding their needs and tailoring solutions accordingly.
  • Partner closely with internal teams, including Services, Product, and Engineering, to ensure a seamless handoff and continued customer success.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to advance opportunities, convert customers, and identify upsell potential.
  • Provide technical thought leadership that helps maximize customer value and seller confidence.
  • Act as a coach and consultant, elevating how sales teams position M-Files’ capabilities.
