About The Position

Sales Engineer – Power Systems Pay: Base Salary up to $100,000/year (dependent on experience) Uncapped commission potential   Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and company holidays  Company-provided cell phone, laptop, & vehicle   Key qualifications: 5+ years of experience in power systems, electrical generation equipment, or related technical sales; a combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered Strong understanding of electrical power generation products, applications, and installation requirements preferred Proficiency with computer systems, Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and willingness to learn new technology platforms used for sales activity tracking, service coordination, and quoting Proven technical sales abilities, preferably to end users, contractors, engineers, and consultants Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, follow documentation requirements, and ensure on-time completion of administrative tasks Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with end users, contractors, internal teams, and external stakeholders Must possess a valid driver’s license – this is an outside sales role

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in power systems, electrical generation equipment, or related technical sales; a combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered
  • Strong understanding of electrical power generation products, applications, and installation requirements preferred
  • Proficiency with computer systems, Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and willingness to learn new technology platforms used for sales activity tracking, service coordination, and quoting
  • Proven technical sales abilities, preferably to end users, contractors, engineers, and consultants

Responsibilities

  • Successfully sell H.O. Penn Power Systems Products and services
  • Produce targeted sales volume and gross profit
  • Directly Sell to End Users and Contractors
  • Influence End Users, Consultants and Architects to specify/apply the use of H.O. Penn Power Systems Products, related Equipment and services
  • Provide reports on sales activity and coverage
  • Engage in promotional and marketing efforts that result in growth for H.O. Penn Power Systems, related equipment and services
  • Seek new applications for existing products
  • Seek new products for existing and new markets
  • Develop and employ market information related to new and existing customers
  • Seek and coordinate customer opportunities for all H.O. Penn products and services (Parts, Service, New and Used Equipment)
  • Coordinate between customers associated H.O. Penn support departments and Power Systems Management to ensure successful installations
  • Submit project worksheets and all required paperwork complete and in a timely fashion
  • Assist the Credit Department with collecting all past due invoices and follow-up on collection of funds retained until successful Project completion
  • Coordinate with project manager to ensure timely and satisfactory response to customer inquiries
  • Follow Caterpillar’s procedures to obtain product pricing, Special Rating requests and technical information
  • Maintain ongoing communication throughout the entire project with the Project Management Team
