The Daily Beast is seeking a Sales Director, Programmatic to lead revenue growth across programmatic channels. This role will own our programmatic sales strategy, deepen senior-level relationships with agency trading desks, holding companies, independents, and brands, and champion programmatic as a core revenue stream within the business.

  • Own and drive programmatic revenue goals, consistently exceeding personal and organizational KPIs
  • Develop and expand high-level relationships with senior decision-makers across agencies, trading desks, and brand programmatic leads
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for all programmatic partnerships, managing negotiations and long-term growth opportunities
  • Build and oversee a robust pipeline of premium 1:1 programmatic deals
  • Act as a consultative partner to clients, providing strategic solutions across The Daily Beast's programmatic product suite (video, display, data, audience solutions, and custom packages)
  • Partner closely with direct sales leadership to integrate programmatic into holistic client strategies
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Ad Ops, and Shared Services to develop go-to-market strategies, streamline execution, and drive repeatable revenue
  • Evangelize programmatic internally, ensuring it is prioritized and embedded across sales and revenue planning efforts
  • Represent The Daily Beast at industry events, maintaining visibility and credibility with key programmatic decision-makers
  • 3-7+ years of digital media sales experience with a strong focus on programmatic
  • Proven track record of exceeding programmatic revenue targets at the agency or publisher level
  • Deep understanding of programmatic buying strategies, agency trading desk operations, DSPs, and SSPs
  • Strong background in video, display, audience/data solutions, auction dynamics, and ad-server logistics
  • Exceptional strategic selling, negotiation, and consultative skills
  • Established relationships with senior programmatic buyers and decision-makers across holding companies, independents, and brands
  • Entrepreneurial, self-starter mindset with the ability to lead initiatives independently while collaborating cross-functionally
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Strong client relationships within the Telco and/or Politics categories are a plus
