About The Position

Zifo is looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our commercial team in our Cary, NC office. This role focuses on outbound prospecting and lead qualification for Zifo’s scientific informatics and data solutions serving life sciences organizations. Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in life sciences required (e.g. biology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, biochemistry, chemistry).
  • Recent graduate or 1-2 years of internship / work experience in a Sales Development Representative, Business Development Representative function. Alternatively, strong interest in SDR role with some prior life sciences experience.
  • Not afraid to pick up the phone and cold call.
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Persistent, self-motivated, and willing to go beyond strict job responsibilities.
  • Driven to meet/exceed goals with a proven history of consistent high achievement.
  • Methodical and disciplined work ethic.
  • Team player.
  • Comfortable with outbound prospecting and learning technical concepts
  • Ability to work from the RTP (Carey, NC) office

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with B2B sales, services, or technology solutions
  • Exposure to life science business or scientific software
  • Familiarity with CRM and prospecting tools, (Apollo, SalesForce)

Responsibilities

  • Identify and research prospective customers within life sciences and related industries to help build pipeline
  • Execute outbound outreach via email, phone, LinkedIn, and other channels to generate interest in Zifo’s solutions
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads based on defined criteria (use case, fit, timing, stakeholders)
  • Schedule discovery meetings and hand off qualified opportunities to Account Executives
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our CRM system including organizing, categorizing, and prioritizing sales leads and measure lead conversion and performance
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and subject matter experts to refine messaging and targeting
  • Learn and articulate Zifo’s value proposition, services, and solutions in scientific informatics and digital R&D
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly activity and pipeline generation targets
  • Work with marketing and sales teams to drive attendance at Zifo events and follow-up on leads collected at events
