About The Position

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective clients for VTG’s managed IT, cybersecurity, and cloud services. This individual will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to execute outreach strategies, schedule discovery meetings, and ensure a strong flow of qualified opportunities. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn and articulate technical concepts
  • Basic understanding of business operations and customer service principles
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and engaging with prospects
  • 1+ year of experience in sales, customer service, or lead generation
  • Proven ability to meet activity targets in a sales‑driven environment
  • Experience using CRM software (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
  • Demonstrated resilience, persistence, and a positive attitude in the face of rejection

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an MSP, IT services, SaaS, or technology‑focused organization
  • Familiarity with managed IT services, cybersecurity solutions, or cloud technologies
  • Prior experience in B2B sales development or appointment setting
  • Understanding of common business IT challenges and terminology
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound prospecting through phone calls, email campaigns, social outreach, and networking
  • Qualify inbound leads generated through marketing channels
  • Identify client pain points and align them with VTG’s service offerings
  • Schedule discovery calls and meetings for Account Executives
  • Maintain accurate and organized records within the CRM
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to refine messaging and outreach strategies
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly activity and pipeline goals
  • Stay informed on MSP industry trends, cybersecurity concerns, and emerging technologies
  • Represent VTG professionally in all interactions with prospects and partners
