AgVantage FS is headquartered in Waverly, Iowa with branches in Northern and Eastern Iowa. AgVantage FS has about 400 employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 23,000 customers. The cooperative does business in agronomy, energy, precision agronomy, and agri-finance. AgVantage FS is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT   Assumes responsibility for targeted sales calls. Responsible for sales and marketing of all liquid propane and accounts receivable within assigned territory.

Requirements

  • Normally requires a high school diploma, or equivalent, and 1 year experience related to the position.
  • Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
  • Must be able to achieve and maintain Certified Propane Specialist certification.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement and satisfactory driving record
  • Frequently exposed to extreme weather conditions.  Working conditions may occasionally include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.
  • Occasionally may be required to work at varying heights.
  • Frequently required to lift 51lbs - 70lbs
  • Must be able to travel independently and overnight
  • Must be willing to work hours beyond those considered “normal.”
  • Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes a route system in delivery territory, delivers product according to customer requirements.
  • Records sales and delivery information on daily sales.
  • Maintains a preferred prospect list and calls on prospective customers to solicit new business.
  • Prepares order forms and sales contracts.
  • Communicates marketing programs and distributes sales promotion materials to customers and prospects.
  • Adheres to and supports the company credit policy, checking credit history of patron before making a sale, and explaining policy to new customers.
  • Obtains signed equipment lease contract prior to servicing an account.
  • Maintains accounts receivable according to company credit policy.
  • Responds to all complaints and follows through to assure satisfactory settlement.
  • Maintains plant and company inventory according to company standards, controlling shrink at an acceptable level.
  • Maintain vehicle and equipment in safe operating condition.
  • Develop and maintain a record of company owned tanks and equipment.
  • May be required to conduct pressure tests to assure the integrity of the system prior to placing a system into service or in the event service is interrupted.
  • May be required to maintain records of all regulators, including date of manufacture, and changes regulators as necessary.
  • May be required to perform leak tests on customer systems as required.
  • Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
