About The Position

The Sales Data Stewardship Lead at Mars Snacking plays a crucial role in supporting the Chief Data Office's mission to enhance data governance and AI capabilities within the Sales domain. This position involves collaborating with various global and regional teams to optimize enterprise data management, ensuring data quality, and driving user adoption of data-driven insights. The lead will also be responsible for developing strategies that align with business objectives, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and fostering a durable data culture within the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, business analytics, or related major with equivalent experience.
• Proven 10+ years of experience in large scale data management and business transformation.
• Strong expertise in data domains such as Customer, Vendor, Sales/Order, Forecasting, and Contracts.
• Experience with SAP S/4, Kinaxis, Nielsen data, Salesforce, and TPM preferred.
• Recent experience as a global data steward or chief data steward is preferred.
• Significant experience in data strategy, architecture, management, and quality.
• Experience analyzing and understanding business processes to capture data requirements.
• Experience managing technical and non-technical talent in complex data programs.
• Deep understanding of data modeling concepts (conceptual, logical, physical) preferred.
• Experience with data governance, catalog, and quality tools such as Collibra, Informatica, and SAP.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Master Data Management and core data objects such as Material, Customer, Vendor data.
• Data transformation experience within the Consumer Products & Goods industry is preferred.
• Experience building Power BI, Tableau, or similar for executive dashboards and reports.

Responsibilities

• Support the Global Director - Data & AI Stewardship and Delivery - Sales Domain in executing a fully integrated Data and AI Stewardship Strategy.
• Align stewardship efforts with business objectives and priorities.
• Guide Global and Regional functional Leads with Data & AI enabled automation opportunities.
• Develop and execute templates and frameworks for capturing complex data design and metadata.
• Build a backlog to support data improvements and prioritization for Sales Data Governance.
• Capture data object and critical data element mappings against business functions within Sales.
• Facilitate adherence to data governance policies and manage data standards across the Sales function.
• Collaborate with the Data Governance program office and data technology teams to address functional requirements.
• Produce a technology-agnostic logical data model for the Sales function.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address ethical considerations related to data use in AI.
• Ensure metadata is captured, curated, and maintained to remain FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable).
• Analyze, document, optimize, and orchestrate plans for fit-for-AI/Analytics data for Sales.
• Work closely with data architects, modelers, scientists, and AI engineers to ensure data readiness for analytics models.
• Coordinate with the Sales Domain transformation team to monitor and publish KPI metrics related to analytics adoption.
• Engage with data stewards and custodians to support data issues across Sales.
• Communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities effectively.
• Stay informed about industry trends and adapt data stewardship processes accordingly.
• Support change management and data literacy/training needs for the Sales domain.
• Guide and manage data stewards to foster a durable data culture.
