About The Position

The Sales Coordinator position supports the efforts of the Director of Sales/Sales Manager and potentially handles specific market segments, such as wedding and social groups and meetings, as assigned. Other primary responsibilities include qualifying and selling our hotel's facilities and services to inquiries and sales leads, maintaining communication with clients from the beginning to end of their event to ensure their satisfaction, conducting hotel tours and site inspections for prospective clients, attending community and industry networking events to represent the hotel, and participating in sales blitzes. The Sales Coordinator maintains awareness of the sales practices of the hotel's competitive set and is a 'product expert' when selling against them. Additionally, the role ensures adherence to all sales administrative processes, including preparation and submission of reports or internal communication, and meets deadlines. Building strong relationships and loyalty with all clients/groups while maintaining professional integrity is crucial. The coordinator also builds and manages room blocks in Property Management Systems, enters rooming lists for all groups, creates group resumes, assists with detailing group resumes and BEOs, and coordinates billing between accounting, front office, and sales.

Requirements

  • Previous front desk, reservations or sales office experience.
  • Clear, concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with computers including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn to use new computer systems and programs.
