About The Position

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with a passion for cars and outstanding customer service skills to work as an Automotive Sales Consultant. An automobile is one of the biggest purchases many consumers will make in their lifetime and this is your opportunity to become a part of that process. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Driver's License - Type 3 (able to drive standard and automatic)

Responsibilities

  • Building and nurturing a loyal client base during the first 5 years.
  • Networking to acquire outside contacts to develop leads and generate new prospects.
  • Follow up with prospects to thank them, identify their needs, gain their trust, provide information, update on product availability, etc.
  • Promptly and courteously meet and greet customers.
  • Effectively identifies customer needs and accurately inputs this information into the dealer management system.
  • Perform walk-around to present features.
  • Take customers on demo rides.
  • Introduce customers to Floor Manager.
  • Research inventory and assist customers with selection of vehicles.
  • Negotiate sales price (includes down payments and giving an estimate)
  • Assesses the condition of the trade in and negotiates value. (New Car sales only)
  • Introduce customers to Financial Services Consultant (F&I).
  • Meet or exceed minimum sales quota.
  • Effectively handles phone prospects to secure an appointment.
  • Coordinate delivery with VPC/Service to ensure that the delivery date is met. (New Car Sales only)
  • Establishes delivery date and keeps customers informed of delivery status on a regular and timely basis.
  • Inspect vehicle to ensure it is properly prepped and vehicle is as ordered.
  • Explains features, warranty and servicing requirements of the vehicle at the time of delivery.
  • Introduces or informs the customer to the service department (department hours, how to make an appointment) including service consultants, if available.
  • Assist with vehicle pick up from VPC/Service department/other locations, as needed. (New Car sales only)
  • Provide all customers with a positive sales experience to achieve individual and dealership CSI goals.
  • Build customer loyalty and trust through personalized service, attention to details, and follow-through.
  • Effectively and tactfully identifies customer’s needs.
  • Takes all the necessary actions to secure the vehicle that meets their needs, and addresses their concerns, issues, and questions in the shortest possible time with courtesy, tact, and composure.
  • Deliver a quality-control checked vehicle to customer on the promise date, provide a thorough explanation of products and services, and answer customer’s question
  • Schedules and informs customers of the first service appointment. (New Car only)
  • Ensure the customers’ vehicles are clean and ready for delivery as scheduled.
  • Contact customer within 48 hours after delivery.
  • Accurately documents customer vehicles and price information.
  • Assist with answering phones.
  • Scheduling appointments.
  • Contacts customers that did not show up for appointments to reschedule.
  • Completes Ups cards and submits on a timely basis.
  • Inputs all prospect/customer information into DealerTrack, appointment calendar, and implements daily work plan consistently and accurately.
  • Assist in obtaining completed documents (customer signature).
  • Keeps abreast of product knowledge including warranty of vehicles and compliance with State and federal laws affecting car sales.
  • Keeps abreast of advertising and promotional campaigns.
  • Acts with professionalism, integrity, honesty, and respect.
  • Acts in accordance with the Role of Officers and Managers
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Is well groomed and dresses professionally in accordance with company dress standards. (e.g. neat & tidy appearance, shoes polished, etc.)
  • Attends training classes.
  • Provides demonstration of automobiles by explaining features and capabilities, taking test drives and providing comparison with competitive models
  • Prospects for new customers and referrals
  • Maintains a follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business
  • Stays up-to-date on current inventory, product updates, features and accessories through ongoing training
