About The Position

Arizona, New Mexico, and Western Texas Sales Consultant Mackin Educational Resources is a 38-year-old Minnesota based company known nationally for distributing print and digital content, makerspace products, library automation software, and professional learning solutions to schools, classrooms, and school districts across the United States. We are famous for our legendary customer service. Our resources include print books, eBooks, resource management software, online educational databases, Audiobooks, read-along books, and video resources for PK – 12 schools. Additionally, we provide Makerspace design and fulfillment services along with Professional Learning services. Mackin contracts with over 18,000 publishers and producers. Our online ordering database features over 3.5 million print titles and 3 million digital titles. We are looking for a qualified, energetic, and motivated Sales Consultant to cover Arizona, New Mexico and Western Texas.

Requirements

  • Ability to market product(s) and create sales results
  • Experience meeting with customers in-person as well as conducting remote meetings via Zoom/GoogleMeet/etc.
  • Ability to uncover customer’s needs and present solutions that benefit both the customer and Mackin
  • Understanding of the principles and processes for providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to work independently, manage a defined territory, and work with multiple people and departments
  • Ability to learn, develop product knowledge, and react quickly
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills that will result in high closure rates
  • Understanding of library practices and overall educational practices
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High energy
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Minimum 4-year college degree

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of PK-12 education industry helpful, but not mandatory
  • Sales experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Contact prospective customers and effectively communicate Mackin’s numerous services and multiple product lines in a defined geographic territory
  • Create and/or design custom services to fit individual customer needs
  • Develop customers, facilitate orders, and establish mutually beneficial relationships with both new and existing customers
  • Position Mackin as an educational partner to school districts
  • Follow up on leads from multiple sources
  • Drive sales and achieve targeted sales goals
  • Responsible for revenue generation
