The Sales Consultant Trainee at MarineMax is responsible for demonstrating the advantages of the company and strategically positioning its products in the marketplace. This entry-level role focuses on building long-term customer relationships, exceeding customer expectations, and following the MarineMax sales process to achieve sales goals.

  • Enthusiastically embrace the MarineMax values.
  • Establish and maintain good long-term relationships with customers before and after the sale.
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers.
  • Acquire full knowledge of the complete product line, features, and accessories available for purchase.
  • Show products in the showroom, at off-site displays or shows, and demonstrate boats on the water.
  • Follow the MarineMax sales process to improve selling skills, including prospecting for new customers and following up on previously contacted customers.
  • Diligently input and maintain accurate and comprehensive customer and prospect information into the IDS system.
  • Utilize data on a consistent basis to generate sales.
  • Accurately compute and quote sales prices, including tax, trade-in allowance, and license fee.
  • Work with the Business Manager to communicate the requirements for financing the purchase.
  • Project a professional and knowledgeable image at all times.
  • Oversee the delivery of each unit sold.
  • Introduce customers to the dealership team to emphasize the quality and efficiency of the dealership's service operations.
  • Professionally lead and support customer events including Getaways.
  • Actively participate in boat shows and other off-site promotions.
  • Demonstrate basic Seamanship skills.
  • Successfully complete all required training programs including Brainshark modules.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with customers.
  • Knowledge of sales processes and techniques.
  • Basic understanding of marine products and services.
  • Experience in sales or customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with the marine industry.
