About The Position

The Sales Consultant for Great Lakes Wine & Spirits is a field-based sales role focused on selling and servicing the company's portfolio of products within established customer accounts in Northville. This position offers an excellent introduction to sales and the adult beverage industry, with opportunities for upward mobility into management roles based on performance. The Sales Consultant is responsible for managing their 'Master Routes', ensuring product availability, and achieving growth objectives for the territory.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • High School Diploma/GED (bachelor's degree preferred).
  • 2 years of sales experience (preferred).
  • 2 years of retail experience (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft and iOS devices (Outlook, Excel, iPad).
  • Positive and entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Success-oriented, competitive, and creative mindset.
  • Desire to learn and implement new skills.

  • Experience in the adult beverage industry.
  • Knowledge of local market trends and customer preferences.

Responsibilities

  • Sell, service, develop, and grow the GLWAS portfolio of products within established customer accounts.
  • Manage 'Master Routes' to back-stock shelves and write orders for upcoming delivery days.
  • Merchandise orders for shelving and displaying on delivery days.
  • Achieve monthly objectives on priority brands and specified programs.
  • Generate positive business relationships with decision makers in assigned accounts.
  • Execute assigned headquarters programs from major customers.
  • Present prepared, professional, persuasive sales presentations.
  • Develop and maintain good product knowledge on GLWAS products.
  • Attend weekly and monthly team meetings to discuss objectives and progress.
  • Demonstrate initiative to grow overall spirits and beverage knowledge.
  • Maintain product cleanliness and rotation.
  • Post retail pricing accurately and timely.
  • Ensure point-of-sale materials are accurate and well-placed.
  • Service accounts consistently as outlined on Master Route.
  • Utilize surveys and tracking forms to execute priorities.
  • Communicate proactively with customers and management.
  • Align daily activities with company needs and priorities.
