As a Sales Consultant, Direct Residential, you will manage inbound sales inquiries while actively pursuing new business in markets without physical showroom presence. This role is designed for a proactive seller who takes ownership of growth, seeks out opportunities, and builds long-term relationships through thoughtful, consultative selling. You will serve as a trusted advisor to interior designers, architects, builders, homeowners, and trade partners—delivering tailored solutions, exceptional service, and consistent revenue growth. As a brand ambassador, you’ll embody our core values of leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and fearless sales execution. With a passion for the Waterworks brand, you’ll confidently execute strategies that place the customer at the center of every interaction.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of outside or inside sales, business development, or territory growth experience, ideally within luxury, premium, or design‑driven industries
  • Demonstrated success in hunting, prospecting, and winning new business
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in competitive markets
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Digitally savvy and comfortable with modern prospecting tools
  • Ability to actively listen, uncover client needs, and translate opportunities into closed sales
  • Strong persuasion, negotiation, and influence skills
  • Self‑motivated, high‑energy, and disciplined, capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously
  • Passionate about driving results and building meaningful client relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems and sales tracking tools
  • Up to 40% travel required

  • Plumbing, tile, or design industry experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Consistently exceed sales and market‑growth targets by driving new revenue opportunities
  • Act as the first point of contact for inbound client inquiries through a remote phone queue system
  • Aggressively prospect, pursue, and secure new business via outbound outreach, networking, and targeted market penetration
  • Develop and expand a strong pipeline of interior designers, architects, builders, homeowners, plumbers, and contractors
  • Own, manage, and grow a personal book of business, with full accountability for net‑new revenue, market share expansion, and repeat business
  • Guide prospects through the full Waterworks portfolio, providing expert product knowledge, solutions, and design recommendations
  • Create strategic proposals, deliver timely and accurate quotes, follow up with discipline, and close deals with confidence
  • Partner with a Client Support Specialist to ensure a seamless, premium post‑sale experience
  • Travel frequently to emerging and underserved markets to open accounts, strengthen relationships, and drive brand visibility
  • Maintain rigorous CRM documentation, pipeline hygiene, and precise forecasting
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, representing Waterworks with professionalism, confidence, and a growth mindset
  • Engage actively in industry and showroom events, including networking forums, CEUs, and client engagements
  • Participate in additional sales‑driving initiatives as needed to expand market share
