About The Position

You will lead Grainger's sales incentive plans for 3,000+ commissioned team members across North America. Oversee design execution, ongoing evaluation of effectiveness and improvement of our sales incentive philosophy. This is a strategic role with a high degree of analytical fortitude that transitions between areas of ambiguity and strategic complexity. You will lead current and design future sales incentive plans and report to the Senior Manager, Goal Setting Strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 5 years' experience in Compensation, Finance, HR or other analytical roles.
  • Experience with sales incentive design and execution preferred.
  • Design and implement programs to achieve desired goals.
  • Qualitative and quantitative experience with sales incentive best practices in multiple industries in US and Canada.
  • Continuous Improvement experience would be a plus.
  • Experience working with high volumes of data team-oriented and customer-focused.
  • Advanced Excel skills (can perform complex functions).
  • Certified Sales Compensation Professional (CSCP) and/or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and evaluation of incentive plans for Grainger's sales organization.
  • Ensure that sales incentive programs are aligned with the goals and objectives and evaluate plan effectiveness on an ongoing basis.
  • Recommend revisions, and new plans, to support overall company strategy.
  • Develop short and long-range goals for sales incentive strategy to ensure success through analysis and insights of programs.
  • Partner with sales leadership, HR and Finance on the design and implementation of incentives for current and newly created roles.
  • Remain connected with internal business leaders, gathering understanding of specific roles and resulting incentive design needs.
  • Provide expertise and training to the plan participants and leaders.
  • Oversee the communication and education of compensation programs to ensure understanding by employees.
  • Stay up-to-date with compensation technological and business developments to ensure that the most productive, efficient, appropriate and cost-effective methods are being used for programs and offerings.
  • Ensure projects are completed promptly; follow-up on projects to ensure they meet the original objective and recommends modifications when needed.
  • Monitor federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.
