About The Position

The Sales Associate at Dollar General is responsible for providing excellent customer service and acting as the primary point of contact for customers. This role involves maintaining store organization, stocking merchandise, and ensuring a positive shopping experience while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of safety policies and practices.
  • Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
  • Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
  • Basic mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the point of contact for customers.
  • Assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams and programs.
  • Stock merchandise adequately.
  • Unload trucks and store merchandise in stock room or move directly to sales floor.
  • Build merchandise displays and rotate merchandise on shelves.
  • Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
  • Perform cleaning duties including dusting, mopping, and maintaining restroom and stockroom cleanliness.
  • Operate cash register and handle customer transactions.
  • Collect payment from customers and provide change.
  • Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners.
