About The Position

The Sales Associate successfully executes merchandising and sales goals in the off/on-premise market as assigned by the Associate Director of Regional Sales. They provide hands-on support to various accounts and distributors by building displays, stocking shelves, and ensuring the Karl Strauss brand is available to the consumers for purchase. They work with the Associate Director of Regional Sales on increasing distribution through a targeted list of goals.

Requirements

  • Beverage sales or merchandising experience preferred.
  • Minimum educational requirement is an associate degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive buyer-seller relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Must be a self-starter, entrepreneurial, and capable of working at a high level with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a passion for spreading the goodwill of the Karl Strauss Brewing Company.
  • Must thrive in a community-focused and team-based environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel a must.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Must complete the Certified Beer Server Exam through the Cicerone Certification Program within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Visits assigned merchandise accounts to build displays and stock shelves per the direction of the Associate Director of Regional Sale.
  • Completes and submits tracking reports daily to the Associate Director of Regional Sales, and reports non-compliance in a timely manner.
  • Drives in-store presence in line with ideal store standards.
  • Increases permanent product disruption points at ambient and cold locations in stores above the competition.
  • Calls on local buyers, decision-makers, and key account managers on a consistent basis, building a strong relationship with customers and networking within the field.
  • Creates and maintains a regular schedule of distributor ride-along.
  • Creates authentic relationships with account buyers to obtain and secure high-profile in-store square footage for the purposes of building Karl Strauss and Endless Summer displays.
  • Acts as a coach to all distributor representatives working for our distributors and KSBC in all regions, motivating them to achieve Karl Strauss sales goals.
  • Works with the wholesaler sales team to impart education on Karl Strauss and Endless Summer brands.
  • Runs promotions and beer tastings at licensed accounts and as directed by the Associate Director of Regional Sales.
  • Assists the Associate Director of Regional Sales with various sales/promotions, and/or related projects and assignments 30-60-90-day outlook on activity.
  • Drives execution of agreed and over and above national and local promotion opportunities.
  • Drives events across the territory in both on and off-premise markets
  • Focuses on selling channel selling strategies to win placements for wholesalers.
  • Covers defined territory and completes all calls allocated to the individual territory.
  • Respects, enjoys and shares our craft at special events and promotions as assigned.
