About The Position

The Thrift Store Sales Associate is a part-time position responsible for providing outstanding customer service, efficiently handling transactions, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers. This role requires a friendly and approachable demeanor, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred.
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying items.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays at any Northland store location.
  • A genuine interest in thrift store operations and a commitment to the store's mission and values.
  • Must have valid drivers license must carry minimum coverage applicable by law for auto insurance
  • Must Receive Seasonal Flu Vaccination

  • Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Greet customers warmly upon arrival, assist with inquiries, and provide information about store policies and promotions.
  • Transaction Handling: Accurately process sales transactions, including cash, credit/debit card payments, and returns/exchanges. Responsible for opening and closing the cash register, counting and reconciling cash drawers, preparing daily deposits, and ensuring accuracy of all funds.
  • Merchandising: Assist in maintaining the appearance of the sales floor, including arranging and replenishing merchandise, cleaning, and organizing displays.
  • Inventory Management: Help with receiving and processing donated items, sorting, pricing, and stocking merchandise.
  • Loss Prevention: Be vigilant and proactive in preventing theft and ensuring the security of the store's assets.
  • Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with other store staff and volunteers to ensure smooth store operations and a positive work environment.
  • Store Operations: Responsible for opening and closing store procedures. Assist Manager to schedule and confirm volunteer schedules to ensure the store is staffed appropriately each day.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all store policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • All Other Duties as Assigned
