About The Position

Pet Supermarket is looking for an animal lover to join their Pawsome team as a Store Employee. The role involves enhancing the lives of pets and their people by providing friendly customer service, assisting with product selection, and ensuring pets have the right food and accessories. Employees are expected to be passionate about pets, knowledgeable about their needs, and dedicated to providing World Class Service. The company is committed to making a difference in the community by offering knowledge, support, and quality products. The ideal employee will assist the management team with day-to-day store operations, maintain a clean and organized sales floor, and help customers feel at ease while shopping.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age
Ability to work a flexible work schedule which may include morning, evenings, weekends and/or holidays according to business needs
Several duties require physical exertion and dexterity
Heavy lifting up to 55lbs required repeatedly several times throughout a shift
Most of the time is spent on the selling floor, standing, or moving around
Active listening required when communicating / speaking with customers and employees
Active observation required when merchandising the store
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect
Acts with customers in mind; Leverages the service and selling model to provide excellent customer service
Maintain a high customer readiness standard by delivering a clean, neat, and safe shopping environment
Support a positive work environment where everyone can work together to do their best
Self-starter, able to work independently at times and as part of a team
Step forward to help others when needed

Responsibilities

Striving to enhance the lives of pets and their people when customers are shopping with us
Providing friendly customer service when customers are looking for pet products
Knowing what various pets need in terms of cages, food, and special diets
Helping customers with food and accessories for newly adopted pets to ensure a positive transition
Greeting customers and making a splash
Assisting the management team with the day-to-day store operations
Maintaining a clean and organized sales floor
Helping our customers feel at ease while shopping with us
Assist in driving sales, service, and customer experience initiatives in store by demonstrating our selling and service models with all customers
Acknowledge, welcome, and thank each customer in a friendly and timely manner
Assist customer(s) quickly and positively with product selection and answer their questions wherever in the store they may be, to ensure they have the right food and accessories to enhance their pets' lives
Maintain the consistency and reputation of the store by complying with Brand Standards
Work as part of the store team to meet or exceed targeted sales goals
Clean pet enclosures and ensure all animals have appropriate food and water
Support in maintaining the fish system
Assist with the restocking of merchandise on shelves and fixtures and moving products from the stockroom to the salesfloor
Maintain a high level of professionalism and positive attitude in the workplace, including conducting oneself in an appropriate manner when communicating
Complete tasks and other duties as assigned by store management
