Requirements

  • Personable, friendly, and a genuine desire to provide outstanding service
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Proficiency to communicate with customers, vendors, and coworkers through phone, email, and in person
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs
  • Experienced in attracting and retaining customers
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take independent initiative without direct supervision
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance
  • Must be available to work weekends
  • Experience providing excellent and gracious customer service plus follow through
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Plans, prioritizes, and organizes work effectively
  • Familiarity and passion with grass-fed and regenerative meat products
  • Ability to travel locally as necessary
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • 2-3 years of experience in retail sales, hospitality, or similar

Responsibilities

  • Staffing The Ground Market store, talking to customers, assisting with sales
  • Greet and assist customers in an engaging and professional manner
  • Maintain current and thorough knowledge of all available products and partners to effectively advise and sell to customers in person, through email, over the phone or other channels
  • Follow up on vetted leads from Sale Manager and convert leads into consistent customers in The Ground Market custom exempt or USDA business models.
  • Develop relationships and knowledge of our customer base’s needs and purchasing tendencies that is tracked so that we can maintain strong service levels with them.
  • Maintain the appearance of all displays, tidying and restocking as needed
  • Participate in inventorying, stocking, and ordering as needed
  • Assist with pick up and distribution of orders at various processors
  • Various administrative tasks, including but not limited to: meat cutting instructions, communicating weights and prices of the product, end of day retail reconciliation
  • Prompt, personable, knowledgeable, solution-oriented responses to customers both in written and verbal form
  • Key Area of Focus: Sales Associate
  • Develops inside sales opportunities in collaboration with Sales Manager
  • Manages their implementation, tracking and operation
  • Owns and manages the customer experience during the buying process
  • Works with the rest of the team to develop new concepts and relay messages
  • Evaluate outside business development opportunities and share proposals with Sales and Store Manager prior to implementation
