About The Position

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our dynamic team. The Sales Associate will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, assisting them in their product selection, and closing sales. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of the oil and gas industry, excellent communication skills, and the drive to meet and exceed sales goals. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of our business and play a key role in serving our valued customers. Work Environment: Work is performed in a warehouse/industrial retail location. The employee may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. The volume is usually quiet to moderate. The sales associate will regularly travel to client locations in urban and rural areas which can include driving on a variety of terrains during all seasons and weather conditions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current, valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Proven experience in inside sales or a similar customer-serving role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Customer-focused mindset and the ability to understand and address customer needs effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to learn and use computer-based retail, customer management, and personnel systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer complaints or issues in a professional manner.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 50 pounds regularly, stoop, kneel, and reach for items located above your head required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of oil and gas supplies, production equipment, and industry-specific tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, including oil and gas companies, contractors, and other companies, through regular communication, both in person and via phone/email.
  • Proactively identify, research, and pursue potential clients to expand business opportunities.
  • Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services from our inventory, including production equipment, safety gear, tools, and other oil and gas supplies.
  • Collaborate with customers to determine their requirements, provide technical assistance, and offer solutions that meet their specific needs.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to prospective customers, highlighting the features and benefits of our products and services.
  • Generate and follow up on sales leads, promptly responding to customer inquiries and requests for quotations.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions of sales agreements to maximize profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Process sales orders accurately and efficiently using our internal systems, ensuring timely delivery, and addressing any potential issues or delays.
  • Work closely with the team to monitor inventory levels and coordinate product availability and delivery schedules.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, product knowledge, and competitors' offerings to effectively communicate value propositions and differentiate our products in the market.
  • Provide excellent post-sales support, addressing any customer concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Travel to client locations to conduct sales and service calls and product deliveries.
