About The Position

The Sales Associate is responsible for various operational and customer service tasks within a retail store environment. Key duties include handling incoming merchandise, maintaining department organization and stock levels, executing daily operational goals, managing promotional displays, and assisting customers with special orders. The role also involves loss prevention activities by watching for shoplifters and responding to radio requests, all while providing prompt, friendly, and attentive customer service.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 months-1 year of retail experience.
Able to communicate professionally with customers and team members.
Skilled at providing prompt, friendly and attentive customer service.
Strong organizational skills with a passion for details.
Willing to learn all areas of the store and help train others.
A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.
Availability must be flexible, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Hardware experience preferred.
Knowledge and experience of various departments is strongly desired.
Bilingual (Spanish) verbal and written communication skills strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Help unload incoming trucks and put away merchandise (as arranged by management).
Maintain your assigned department: Keep clean, organized and fully stocked.
Execute the daily operational, day-to-day goals/priorities assigned to you and move with your “Ace Pace”.
Remove promotional bin tags from displays/price tags as required.
Restock merchandise displays as needed, watch end caps and side wings.
Handle special orders for all non-stock items.
Never tell a customer no without checking with a manager.
Watch for shoplifters and act, in line with Elder’s policy, that will discourage shoplifting.
Respond to radio requests.
Other duties as assigned.
