About The Position

Requirements

• Retail and customer service experience is highly desirable.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Experience with computers and POS systems.
• Effective communication with diverse individuals and groups in writing and verbally.
• Ability to use initiative and prioritize and organize work.
• Build and maintain lasting relationships with store and home office associates, vendors, and customers.
• Demonstrate integrity, respect for individuals, and ethical behavior.
• Continually learn about the Eastern Mountain Sports customer.
• Use EMS products frequently for personal testing and enjoyment.
• Work productively and flexibly in a fast-changing, demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome every customer into the store in a manner that makes them feel welcome.
• Deliver customer-centric experiences and support an atmosphere that brings customers into the store.
• Build lasting relationships with customers that encourage them to return.
• Speak with and listen to customers in a way that makes them feel comfortable, knowledgeably served, and increases their confidence in EMS.
• Support all store and company programs and initiatives.
• Ascertain needs and recommend products that will enhance customers' outdoor experiences.
• Maintain, increase, and demonstrate product and outdoor expertise.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and shoppable store.
• Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain store in accordance with company standards.
• Contribute to the operational aspects of the store, including pricing, signage, and merchandise flow.
• Contribute to the visual aspects of the store by maintaining a dynamic merchandising strategy.
