About The Position

As the Sales Associate, you will be an integral part of our talented Installation team, collaborating to build the Bay Area’s most trusted and prestigious tile installation service. You won't just sell tile; you'll be the trusted advisor helping clients realize their high-end, sustainable design visions. You will lead virtual discovery calls, in-home consultations, and site walks, produce accurate take-offs and estimates, and present clear proposals and close work, playing a key role in delivering an exceptional end-to-end client experience by combining craftsmanship, operational rigor, and a values-forward culture. Reporting to the Director of Installation, this position is located onsite in Richmond, CA with regular travel across the Bay Area. The position has On‑Target Earnings (OTE): $75,000–$95,000 (base + commissions). Meet the Hiring Manager, Martin Brookes! He has a strong commitment to the dissemination of best practices in the tile industry and is an active member of several industry committees including the National Tile Contractors Association.

Requirements

  • 2–4+ years of combined estimating and sales experience in home services or construction (tile, flooring, kitchen/bath, or related trades).
  • Proven Bay Area experience working directly with general contractors and designers; comfortable selling projects from several thousand dollars to six‑figure, full‑home scopes.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (construction management, business, or related field a plus).
  • Math fluency: strong arithmetic and applied math skills (take‑offs, measurements, waste factors, percentages, discounts, APR basics, and monthly payment calculations).
  • Technology skills: confident with CRM (Buildertrend or Procore), spreadsheets, measurement/markup apps, and collaboration tools; experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini) to draft emails, summarize scopes, or analyze data.
  • Knowledge of tile methods/materials and construction documents (plans, scopes of work, change orders).
  • Territory Mobility: You must be comfortable with extensive daily driving throughout the Bay Area (often navigating heavy traffic and bridge crossings) to manage your territory.
  • Logistics Ready: Must possess a valid CA driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle that is available for daily use (Tolls and gas reimbursed).

Responsibilities

  • Be the face of Fireclay & Fox Marble as you excite clients on-site, guiding them from dream to dazzling reality through virtual discovery calls, consultations, and site walks.
  • Seal the deal! Master the math and the art of the presentation to land six-figure scopes, transforming a simple estimate into a signed partnership.
  • Offer client financing options responsibly; present monthly payment scenarios and coordinate with finance partners.
  • Become the go-to expert. Cultivate thriving relationships with the Bay Area's top general contractors, builders, and designers, building a pipeline that fuels our growth revolution.
  • Maintain impeccable CRM records (stages, next actions, forecast hygiene) and communicate handoffs clearly to project managers.
  • Partner with operations to ensure smooth scheduling, change‑order discipline, and on‑time delivery.
