About The Position

We are looking for a Sales Associate, Strategic Partnerships, to join the Fortune Team! The Sales Associate, Strategic Partnerships develops and maintains both producer and customer relationships. More specifically, this role is responsible for developing new business and expanding existing business through a direct sales model. Additional responsibilities also include maintaining and expanding vendor/producer relationships and connecting those synergies with Fortune branches.

Requirements

  • Education – Degree preferred (Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality or Culinary Arts).
  • Experience – 5-7 years of experience in direct sales, trading, brokers, or purchasing with an established book of business.
  • Ability to collaborate and work with a remote team.
  • Work ethic – A demonstrated sense of urgency in meeting critical and time sensitive deadlines.
  • Technical – PC skills and proficiency with MS Outlook, Word and Excel Total.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize existing client relationships in designated markets (Manufacturing, Distributors, Ship Chandlers, etc.) with vendors/producer partners to provide an immediate financial impact.
  • Identify opportunities in current portfolio for line extensions and new programs expansion.
  • Seek out and establish relationships with key vendors/ producers to supply your book of business.
  • Coordinate with operations & logistics to ensure on time deliveries, proper receiving of purchase orders and accurate invoicing to customers.
  • Work in tandem with finance to ensure all client and vendor invoices are paid on time.
  • Aggressively develop new business through cold calling, networking, and customer references to grow book of business.
  • Collaborate with sales professionals within the department to capitalizing on potential product synergies maximizing our collective buying power with vendors/producers.
  • Work with specific Fortune DCs that might have long inventories and assist them in moving those inventories out.
  • Analyze and regularly report data on portfolio success and areas for improvement.
