Sales Associate - Sporting Goods - Part Time
About The Position
We are seeking a Sales Associate to join our team in the Sporting Goods department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports and outdoor activities, as well as excellent customer service skills. Position Overview Provide an outstanding customer service experience by greeting, assisting with locating merchandise or services, helping with buying decisions, and thanking all customers. Assure all customer needs are met by asking open-ended questions in regard to their activity, project, event, or need. Merchandise the sales floor to maintain a clean, organized, and inviting shopping experience. Live the Smith and Edwards Lifestyle, individuals with extensive knowledge and/or experience in regards to the great outdoors, camping, western lifestyle, etc. will be given preference. Build positive relationships with our customers and community. Ask questions, learn our customers’ names, and be sure all their needs are met. Give each and every customer a personal shopping experience. Support the store management team by meeting sales goals, processing merchandise returns, performing inventory cycle counts, and demonstrating trustworthiness and reliability. The Sales Associate will be responsible for : Greeting and assisting customers with their purchases Providing product knowledge and recommendations Processing transactions and handling cash and credit card payments Maintaining a clean and organized store environment Assisting with inventory management and restocking Meet and exceed sales goals and targets
Requirements
- Prior retail sales experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds frequently to load and unload customer orders and incoming shipments.
- Ability to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and performing all functions as set forth.
