About The Position

The purpose of this position is to sell merchandise offered by the Goodwill Store to individuals through exceptional customer service, display techniques, and knowledge of the quality, characteristics, and merit of the merchandise. The role requires promoting a friendly and welcoming environment for all customers, maintaining store cleanliness, and assisting customers in their shopping experience. The Sales Associate will also be responsible for processing transactions, stocking merchandise, and ensuring a safe shopping environment.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to utilize excellent customer service skills.
• Good work habits such as acceptable attitude and punctuality.
• Basic knowledge of fashion, style, color, quality, and accessories.
• Understanding of household goods and community buying habits.
• Ability to adapt to high volume/high stress situations.
• Physical endurance to work at industrial standards, able to lift up to 25lbs unassisted and 50lbs assisted.

Responsibilities

• Promote a friendly and welcoming environment for all customers.
• Greet all customers positively and professionally.
• Assist customers in determining the location and selection of desired merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and sizing.
• Resolve customer concerns and complaints while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Process cash register transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Prepare merchandise for proper stock rotation.
• Assist management with training of volunteers/trainees.
• Prepare required daily sales reports and make daily bank deposits.
• Monitor for suspicious behavior and report theft to a supervisor.
