About The Position

The Sales Associate at Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the organization's mission of empowering individuals in the community. This part-time position involves assisting customers with purchases, operating a cash register, and maintaining an organized sales floor. The Sales Associate is also responsible for preparing donations for sale, ensuring that items are sorted, priced, and displayed appropriately.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior retail, cash handling or customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists customers with purchases providing excellent customer service
• Operates a cash register in compliance with cash handling policies
• Maintains neat and consumer-attractive sales floor
• Maintains fresh inventory levels at front of store
• Sorts, prices, tags, and hangs donated goods in preparation for stocking the sales floor
• Ensures quality of merchandise and pre-sorts items for salvage
• Maintains compliance with safety and housekeeping practices
• Maintains a professional and flexible attitude; willing to take on different job responsibilities
• Promotes the mission and values of Goodwill
• Performs additional duties as assigned
