About the position
This position is located in the OKC Metro area of Oklahoma City, OK, and is available as either full-time or part-time. The salary for this role is $14.00 per hour. The job shift can vary, as it is open to any shift. The job description is not exhaustive, and employees may be required to perform additional duties as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the department and organization. There is a specific emphasis on cleaning duties, particularly during the overnight shift.
Responsibilities
- Adheres to all Company policies
- Follows the work schedule as posted unless a change is arranged with the Store Manager
- Provides prompt and courteous service to all customers
- Observes shift operating hours as assigned by the Store Manager
- Assists the Store Manager in maintaining a store-inspection grade of at least 90%
- Reports all sales, cash, or operating discrepancies to the Store Manager
- Operates shift within Company guidelines to achieve sales and profit
- Completes all assigned training
- Prepares a shift-change report at the end of the shift
- Clocks in and out at the time clock and verifies all hours worked
- Notifies the Store Manager of any discrepancies in operating results
- Rings all sales as per the Policy Manual
- Advises the Store Manager of any personnel situations or policy violations
- Shares responsibility for controlling inventory
- Follows Company policy regarding cash security
- Keeps coolers, drink boxes, store shelves, and displays fully stocked
- Cleans and maintains equipment properly
- Maintains cleanliness of store floors and equipment
- Checks refrigeration equipment for proper performance
- Cleans windows, floors, shelving, counters, and gas pumps
- Checks bathrooms for cleanliness every hour
- Posts signs on out-of-order equipment and hazardous conditions
- Advises the Store Manager of any maintenance problems
Requirements
- Availability to work all scheduled hours and occasional unscheduled shifts
- Ability to converse and understand English at the eighth-grade level
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations at the eighth-grade level
- Sufficient visual acuity to check identification and process money orders
- Ability to read and understand instructions for operating electronic cash registers
- Ability to move up to 55 pounds
- Ability to stock shelves and cooler
- Ability to react to a fire using a 20-pound fire extinguisher
- Ability to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products
- Ability to ascend/descend a ladder for cleaning tasks
- Ability to clean the parking lot and surrounding grounds
- Ability to work in a cooler at 34 degrees for up to 20 minutes
- Ability to work in a freezer at -20 degrees for short periods
- Ability to bag ice
- Ability to detect and identify objects or people up to 40 yards away
- Ability to operate store equipment such as cash registers and computers
- Ability to remain stationary for up to a full nine-hour shift
- Ability to bend, stoop, push, and pull for stocking and merchandising
- Ability to work as a team member for customer satisfaction
