About The Position

The Sales Assistant is responsible for assisting the sales team in the day-to-day operations of the department. This position supports the Wholesale Apperal business. The responsibilities described below are considered essential functions of the role. This position is based in our NYC office and requires working on-site five days per week.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or College degree
  • Minimum of 1-3 years previous job experience in retail, sales support or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to understand and follow somewhat complex verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with others
  • Most decisions are made within company policy constraints, and some latitude exists. Decisions may impact others or the organization
  • Work responsibilities occasionally concern confidential and/or sensitive information requiring the use of discretion
  • Job duties varied, frequently require attention to and/or coordination of concurrent job duties
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Under limited supervision, anticipates and solves problems for self and other lower-level employees
  • Has no supervisory responsibility, provides basic work direction usually one-on-one

Responsibilities

  • Process sales leads and assure leads are directed to the appropriate staff member
  • Perform trade show follow up to assure timely delivery of literature and samples
  • Phone contacts to augment the efforts of the sales staff as needed
  • Processing sales data, sales progress reports and other sales related records and reports
  • Data entry to track the delivery of sales literature, product samples and other necessary services to customers as directed by the sales staff or management
  • Answers routine product questions and directs questions to appropriate personnel when necessary
  • Maintain business relationships with customers
  • Attend trade shows
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with support and resources as needed
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
