SUMMARY: The Sales Application Specialist assists with all aspects of Heating equipment projects including making equipment selections, pricing, discounts, order entry, and submittal processes as required, from beginning to end. Also assists Sales Engineers with the administration, implementation, and management of equipment projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); at least 2 years of experience in sales support or technical customer service and pricing and quoting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office programs is required, as well as a general familiarity with computers, and the ability to learn new software applications.
  • The associate must be able to type 45 wpm accurately.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Required to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers.
  • Ability to understand and use technical information relating to products and systems.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math operations using units of American money, weight measurement, volume and distance.
  • Ability to calculate figures involving discounts and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving abstract and concrete variables in a wide variety of situations.
  • Ability to pass drug screening
  • Ability to prove US employment eligibility

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the selection and validation of the equipment to include selection of size, configuration, voltage, options, etc. of heating equipment by reviewing the plans, specifications, original estimate and proposal.
  • Validates project scope by reviewing transition documents, plans and specs, and validating quantities and configurations.
  • Responsible for order entry, preparation of equipment and vendor orders, tracking lead times, and estimated ship dates.
  • Supports sales and develops preliminary submittals and/or final submittals as required.
  • Verifies equipment pricing and revising coordination worksheet.
  • Validates outside equipment and service purchase prices.
  • Obtains discounts and enters discounts into CRM along with documenting work by maintaining files for each job.
  • Obtains and validates vendor submittals.
  • Generates and distributes final submittal.
  • Responsible for timely completion of assigned projects and customer satisfaction.
  • Plans and analyzes assigned projects involving complex equipment applications.
  • Compares estimated ship dates with contractors project schedule when necessary to ensure project execution is on schedule
  • Assists with entering equipment orders and issuing purchase orders for vendor orders
  • Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
  • Processes orders and change orders
  • Handles requests for quotes, I O & Ms, wiring diagrams, parts lists, extra submittal copies, etc.
  • Assists customers by coordinating interface with parts, service, and controls to solve customer problems and schedule service work
  • Handles preparation for startups
  • Processes warranty claims
  • Provides weekly updates in regularly scheduled bid meeting to all sales engineers
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as required
  • Demonstrate and promote a spirit of cooperation and teamwork throughout the Company
  • Continually look for ways to improve our processes and ability to serve our customers effectively

  • Answer customer calls and correspondence quickly and pleasantly

  • Follow all company safety programs and report any non-compliance to your Team Leader
  • Notify Manager or Safety Manager of any unsafe conditions
