About The Position

The Sales and Service Manager at ATS Specialized, Inc. is responsible for driving new sales and managing the Account Representatives within the assigned business area. This role involves staffing, directing, and implementing strategies to expand the customer base and enhance service delivery. The manager will oversee daily operations, ensure effective performance management, and collaborate with various departments to optimize customer experience and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a two-year business degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Two to four years of experience leading a team in a customer-service or sales environment.
  • Strong understanding of the commercial transportation and asset productivity industries.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting sales, and profit & loss statements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish trust and rapport with staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to influence and work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience managing remote employees effectively.
  • Strong negotiation skills in challenging situations.
  • Planning and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet research tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Account Representatives.
  • Grow the number of active shippers within the assigned customer base.
  • Partner with Human Resources for recruiting, interviewing, and training new employees.
  • Provide effective employee performance management using SMART goals and constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Regional Accounts to manage the ATS Customer Experience Map.
  • Manage the annual operating budget and cost center with the Director of Regional Accounts.
  • Identify potential new customers and manage effective prospecting efforts.
  • Respond to customer service requests and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure Account Representatives maintain accurate load information for driver satisfaction.
  • Encourage Account Representatives to contact existing or inactive customers to sell ATS services.
  • Work with ATS Logistics to ensure quality and quantity of freight coverage.
  • Increase the efficiency of freight operations through planner interaction.
  • Implement processes to reduce workflow queues within the Account Representative group.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to manage truck productivity and driver home time needs.
  • Act as a mediator between customers and Account Representatives when necessary.
  • Support Account Representatives in contacting customers for service sales.
  • Occasionally make outside sales calls to manage the customer base.
