About The Position

The Sales & Community Representative will be responsible for selling all Detroit Tigers Spring Training and Lakeland Flying Tigers ticket packages, hospitality inventory, sponsorship inventory all while providing outstanding service to our guests and clients. This role will also manage, implement, execute and assist in the development of community-based initiatives and programming for Detroit Tigers Spring Training, Lakeland Flying Tigers as well as the Tigers Foundation. This position is located in Lakeland, FL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Sports Management or related degree.
  • Sales and/or customer services experience a strong plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, phone and organizational skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel; plus database management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the sale of all ticket and sponsorship packages including full season, party suites, picnics, group tickets, advertising and sponsorship opportunities and birthday parties.
  • Responsible for assisting in the renewal of all sales assets including tickets and advertising opportunities.
  • Conduct daily cold calls to prospective clients. Holding weekly meetings off site and on site with potential clients.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining customer database. Collecting data from current clients in the form of surveys and enter to win contests.
  • Work to generate new leads and creative ways to sell tickets and sponsorships. Provide excellent customer service to all existing and potential clientele.
  • Handle incoming calls from sales prospects and existing clients.
  • Actively research and prospect new sales leads.
  • Assist at games and other Special events on an as need basis. Meet or exceed weekly and monthly sales goals.
  • Handle incoming donation request with Box Office.
  • Seve as primary contact for developing and implementing team and community partnerships with local 501C3 organizations.
  • Serve as team ambassador at community-based functions, youth sports openings, mascot appearances and local events.
  • Assist with all Foundation and community events for activations, logistics, set up, break down and full execution on behalf of the organization.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
