About the position

This position is a strategic business development and sales role, responsible for identifying new business opportunities, focusing on capturing key global accounts, fostering relationships with clients, and driving growth with the mining and minerals sector for North America. This role involves lead generation and working with project and sales teams through the closing of opportunities. The successful incumbent will contribute to the overall sales strategy to ensure a targeted and focused approach to deliver on the business's overall growth strategy and maximize profit.

Responsibilities

  • Increases sales by cultivating new client relationships as well as strengthening existing client relationships and meeting their operational needs.
  • Promote Minerals services to Global mining and exploration market through client meetings, conferences, seminars, trade shows, partnerships and publications.
  • In collaboration with the senior staff, define business strategies and growth plans for the minerals business.
  • Strategizes with regional operational teams to focus business development activities on existing services and available capacities to maximize profitability and also develop new markets and services.
  • Identifies new markets and market segments, leads, and liaises with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Works with Global Product heads, mineral managers, and regional management to assess the need to increase market share with major mining groups.
  • Assist in designing, developing, and implementing identified business development plans in accordance with company strategic goals.
  • Reviews and approves prepared quotes and proposals to ensure they are competitive within the market, meet the client's objectives, and are error-free.
  • All business development and sales activities are documented in the (CRM) system.
  • Opportunities must be updated regularly to ensure pipeline and forecasting data is accurate and all client information is kept current.
  • When necessary and appropriate, assist other team members in closing sales opportunities related to their area of expertise.
  • Responsible for gathering market intelligence.
  • Maintain knowledge of overall market size, SGS, and competitor market shares.
  • Attends industry and trade show events in support of lead generation and prospecting as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in the mineral services industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Language Skills - English Advanced
  • French or Spanish is an asset
  • Computer Skills advanced
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment
  • Travel requirement: up to 50%
