About this role: We're looking for a prompt engineer in Amsterdam to be responsible for maximizing Agentic output and reliability by bridging user intent and technical execution. You'll be the specialist who constructs, designs and iterates on the inputs that ensure every agent’s response is accurate, efficient and reliable - supporting our Agentic Operations team across the entire LLM ecosystem. This is a unique opportunity to shape LLM efficiency and system reliability standards from the ground up, working hands-on with cutting-edge prompt engineering techniques in a role where you'll help develop the technical architecture from the ground rather than inherit it, unlocking commercial growth for a multi-billion euro organization. Location: Hybrid - 3 days in our Amsterdam office & 2 days from home Reporting to: Head of Automated Sales Operations These are some of the key ingredients to the role:
Requirements
- 5-8 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, (Technical) Product Manager, Automations Specialist, demonstrating the ability to translate complex commercial logic into technical system requirements.
- 2+ years of hands-on Generative AI / LLM experience, specifically in prompt engineering and model output optimization.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills, capable of acting as a bridge between non-technical Commercial stakeholders and Engineering teams.
- Experience with quantitative performance analysis, statistical methods, and A/B testing methodologies for optimizing technical system metrics.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Agentic workflows is a strong plus
- Experience with Salesforce (or Agentforce Specialist certification), enterprise-level conversational AI platforms, or experience fine-tuning open-source LLMs is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Own the Prompt Engineering Lifecycle: Design, technically implement, and optimize complex prompt templates, chains and functions for enterprise use cases by combining user stories, data requirements and business logic.
- Translate requirements, Jobs To Be Done (JTBD) and user stories into precise, context-aware prompts and detailed instructions, ensuring the AI agent is aligned with user intent and business objectives.
- Design and implement scalable prompt libraries and version control mechanisms, focusing on efficiency, cost (token usage), and performance metrics (latency, accuracy).
- Analyze LLM behavior and apply advanced prompting techniques (e.g., Few-Shot, Chain-of-Thought, RAG) to solve difficult reasoning, data analysis and grounding challenges.
- Define and communicate best practices for prompt construction, testing, and refinement and mentor cross-functional teams on identifying LLM behavior patterns to ensure scalable and reusable agent design.
