About The Position

As a Stemilt Sales Account Manager, you connect world‑class fruit with customers across multiple market channels while balancing customer needs with supply, quality, and market conditions. Through strategic planning, negotiation, and hands‑on problem solving, you’ll deliver World Famous! customer service and drive successful outcomes for both customers and the organization.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) from a two‑year college or technical school, or equivalent education and related experience.
  • Qualified individuals must be flexible with work schedules.
  • Knowledge of fruit grades, varieties, packs, sizes, customer packaging, and quality requirements.
  • Ability to work productively and identify and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand the business impact of decisions, demonstrate a profitability mindset, apply market and competitive awareness, and align work with strategic goals.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and adapt in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Power BI not required but a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute fruit marketing strategies and supply plans in partnership with assigned customers to maximize profitable fruit placement, considering anticipated and actual supply, quality, and market conditions.
  • Negotiate fruit transactions on behalf of Stemilt, including pricing, inventory levels, quality and quantity, transportation arrangements and costs, delivery timelines, packaging options, and applicable incentives.
  • Source outside fruit and negotiate purchase terms when internal supply is insufficient to meet customer demand.
  • Represent Stemilt in resolving customer complaints or claims, including negotiating transportation, resale, or disposition of rejected or delayed fruit and developing action plans to ensure timely customer fulfillment with alternative product when needed.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities by researching and developing sales leads through trade shows, industry publications, directories, digital resources, and other market intelligence.
  • Travel within the assigned territory to maintain relationships with existing customers and prospect new accounts through in‑person visits and phone communication.
  • Prepare price quotes, credit terms, and sales contracts, and estimate delivery dates based on production and logistics schedules.
  • Accurately enter and maintain customer, sales, and order information in company systems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customer purchasing contacts through regular communication and on‑site engagement.
  • Host customer visits to Stemilt facilities and represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
  • Stay informed on current market conditions, including fruit pricing, supply levels, and consumer trends.
  • Manage customer invoicing and support timely collection of payments.
  • Play a hands‑on role in seasonal planning and packing for at least one apple or pear variety across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager.
