Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Experience within the ethanol, grain processing, agricultural, food, or chemical industries.
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role, such as sales, account management, or technical service.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand customer operations and commercial drivers.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at multiple levels, including senior leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and commercial concepts.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%; this is a home-office-based role supporting customers primarily in the Midwest region.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers within the fuel ethanol and carbohydrate processing industries.
  • Drive the adoption and implementation of IFF technologies, including enzymes, yeast, and fermentation additives.
  • Identify, develop, and advance new business opportunities to meet or exceed revenue and growth targets.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans, including preparation and negotiation of commercial proposals aligned with marketing strategies.
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer operations, including ethanol or comparable manufacturing processes, to uncover optimization and value-creation opportunities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (technical service, supply chain, marketing, and research) to deliver high-quality, customer-focused solutions.
  • Proactively address customer challenges, resolve issues, and identify unmet needs to strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Effectively utilize internal sales, forecasting, and technical tools (e.g., Salesforce, forecasting systems, internal calculators, Microsoft Office).
