About The Position

The Key Account Manager for NYC based accounts is responsible for managing and growing direct relationships with assigned accounts and in nearby metropolitan areas. This position focuses on delivering deep product knowledge, technical expertise, and responsive support to key design firms, distributors, and developers. Unlike traditional relationship-based sales, this role emphasizes technical competence, and reliability - always keeping wellness in balance both within a project and our sales staff work environment.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in related field of design or engineering, or equivalent work experience in design, construction or design sales.
  • Proven experience in technical sales or project management within the lighting, electrical, and/or architectural industries.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience working directly with specifiers, architects, and distributors in a high-volume, design-driven market.
  • Willingness to travel locally within the NYC area and occasionally to company headquarters.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, attention to detail and strong time management skills.
  • Demonstrates a rapport with Architects, Interior Designers, Engineers, Lighting Designers and Contractors through value-driven engagement

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned NYC accounts and additional accounts in nearby metropolitan areas to be discussed based upon your input.
  • Develop strong technical knowledge of i2Systems products and use it to support customer design, specification, and application needs.
  • Conduct presentations, trainings, and project reviews with customers via Teams and in person.
  • Support customer design teams and contractors through preconstruction meetings, coordination, and site visits; we will give you support as needed with our applications, marketing, calculations and customer service teams.
  • Collaborate and develop positive relationships with internal teams and the closing team to ensure quotes, submittals, and deliveries meet customer expectations.
  • Build lasting relationships through professionalism, follow-through, and technical support to secure specifications and sales.
  • Maintain account plans, sales pipelines, and forecasts in CRM tools.
  • Represent i2Systems at industry events and customer presentations as needed.
  • Regularly report on account metrics to monitor areas of improvement, market trends, meeting notes and expenses.
