  • 1 year of similar food service experience in institutional setting
  • High School diploma/GED
  • Secondary culinary education, or BOCES training in culinary arts
  • ServSafe Certification

Responsibilities

  • Washes, peels, and slices fruits and vegetables for salad and dessert preparation. Cooks pasta or other food items required in salad recipes.
  • Properly reads production sheet in order to calculate the amount of food to prepare.
  • Properly stores prepared food and leftovers, using leftovers to minimize waste.
  • Prepares and attractive product, keeping salad bar well stocked during meal service.
  • Prepares and labels modified diet foods and foods for restricted diets.
  • May serve food in the Cafeteria during lunch hours, as needed.
