About The Position

The SAHO Unit Coordinator position at Gateway National Recreation Area involves coordinating operational activities across various divisions within the unit, including law enforcement, administration, and resource management. The role requires collaboration with project management offices to develop and track a 5-year project plan, as well as representing the Superintendent and the National Park Service to external stakeholders. The coordinator will manage partnerships and maintain relationships with various organizations and business operators within the park, while also participating in leadership meetings to inform decisions and plans.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
  • Must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service for time-in-grade requirements.
  • Possess a valid State driver's license and submit certified driving records as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in public speaking and facilitating dialogue with external groups.
  • Ability to develop written communication tools such as project summaries and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate operational activities and actions between divisions within the Unit.
  • Work with Project Management offices to develop and track the 5-year project plan and schedule.
  • Track and implement Strategic Plan goals and actions for the Unit.
  • Represent the Superintendent and the National Park Service to external agencies and the public.
  • Manage partnership development and collaboration for the Unit.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with partners, volunteer groups, and organizations.
  • Ensure integration of lessees and concessioners' activities into park operations.
  • Participate in weekly leadership meetings with the Superintendent and park program managers.
