About The Position

The Sage Intacct Payroll Consultant is the subject matter expert for everything payroll-related within Sage Intacct. You will work directly with clients to implement, configure, and support payroll modules and integrations, ensuring that payroll processes are accurate, compliant, and efficient. From discovery to post-Go-Live support, this role bridges the gap between payroll operations and Sage Intacct functionality. The ideal candidate has strong payroll knowledge, system implementation experience, and a passion for client success.

Requirements

  • 1+ years’ experience with Sage Intacct (or similar ERP) implementation, preferably with direct payroll or HRIS system configuration experience.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. payroll processes, including payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, time tracking, ACA, and year-end reporting.
  • Experience integrating payroll with financial systems (GL, Projects, Time Entry).
  • Ability to clearly explain complex payroll and compliance issues to clients.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, preferably with a degree in Accounting, Business Technology, or related field.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate client relationships and internal team dynamics.
  • Ability to prioritize across multiple projects and clients while maintaining attention to detail and customer satisfaction.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally, particularly with customer success, product, and support teams.
  • High emotional intelligence, with a service-first mindset and solution-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll-focused implementation projects from discovery to Go-Live, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Implementation, Support, Development) to align project goals and client needs.
  • Coordinate and communicate project progress, risks, and next steps through regular status reporting.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings with stakeholders and ensure alignment on payroll-related tasks and milestones.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple client engagements and deliverables concurrently.
  • Build long-term client relationships by providing exceptional service and timely payroll support.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for payroll-related questions, escalations, and post-Go-Live needs.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to optimize the client’s payroll operations through Sage Intacct features or third-party tools.
  • Deliver user-friendly training to client payroll and HR teams, focusing on system navigation, compliance workflows, and reporting.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and advocate for enhancements or support needs internally to ensure ongoing success.
  • Oversee project requirements gathering, and solution design to ensure accuracy and alignment with best practices.
  • Lead and support project engagements by configuring and implementing Payroll modules using our prescriptive methodology.
  • Develop and execute payroll-specific test plans to ensure accuracy and alignment with business rules.
  • Troubleshoot payroll errors, tax issues, or data discrepancies post-implementation with a focus on resolution and client education.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor for complex implementations or clients with unique needs.
  • Ensure team adherence to documentation standards, quality checks, and internal best practices.
  • Contribute to process improvements, documentation templates, and delivery standards within the Implementation team.
  • Provide insights to improve internal processes, tools, and methodologies for delivering payroll services.
  • Recommend enhancements to Sage Intacct’s payroll capabilities or integrations based on client needs and market trends.
  • Stay informed on changes in payroll compliance, tax laws, and software features that impact client operations.
  • Foster knowledge sharing and upskilling across the team through ongoing mentorship, training, and collaboration.
  • Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and performance evaluations for team members.
